Maputo International School (MIS) is a public institution under the supervision of Mozambique's Ministry of Education and Culture. The school is led by a dedicated leadership team, with the Director—appointed by the Minister of Education and  Culture.

Although MIS operates with financial, administrative, and academic autonomy, it remains fully compliant with Mozambican laws in all legal matters.
